A well sorted, GCC Spec Pick Up that has ALL mods approved on the RTA System in Dubai, this truck would be impossible to build today. You simply would not be able to get the approvals.
The Base Truck is a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado with 130000km - which is really low for the year model. It is also a WT which means you get seating for SIX people, AND a full length Bed with the Extended Cab. Two motorbikes fit in the back, plus overnight gear and six people! Win! There is also a removable Aluminium (correct spelling :-)Storage box for the bed!
Fitted with an aftermarket Entertainment Unit, with reversing camera and a separate Amp/Sub under the rear seats. There's also a Parrot 3000 Bluetooth hands free phone kit installed... but the best stuff is on the outside.....
The truck is lifted 6" on a ProComp Lift Kit from the USA. The optional extra Twin-Shock Hoops have been fitted forward, bringing it to a total of 8 Shocks all up - All ProComp MX9s. All parts can still be serviced and/or replaced through ProComp and their many distributors in the USA.
The Body has been lifted 1", and that allows the wheels and tire package to clear the aftermarket body work. Originally the truck had 20" XD rims, but two of these had minor cracks in them (quite common). I ordered a special build of Method Racing Wheels from the factory in the US - special build because this is a HEAVY DUTY 2500HD, with much heavier and stronger undercarriage/chassis, including the heavy duty axles with, you guessed it, 8-lug stud patterns! Spacers widen the track to be flush with the fenders. Looks 'planted'. The XDs are still available and can be negotiated into the deal, as can the original ProComp 37"s (x4). Those tires are more than 7 years old, but they have HEAPS of life in them if you wanted to just use them off road. The tires fitted to the Methods are Cooper STT Pros - awesome, and selected for their lifespan as much as anything else.
As a Mechanic (NZ) I have also rebuilt the front end. Lifted trucks cop a lot more wear and tear on the components. Over the past 6 months I have;
Changed the A-Arms, Bushings, inner and outer Tie Rods, Idler Arm, Wheel Bearings and rear shock bushings. Also fitted long tube headers, wrapped in fiberglass header wrap, and locked on with Stage 8 Locking header bolts - they won't leak! We sourced 3" mandrel Exhaust from the USA and designed/built a custom, true dual system, with Magnaflows and 'removable' electric cut-outs after the headers with a wireless remote on the key fob. When they're removed, drag muffers take their place in the system. Everything is welded up with V-Band clamps to make the whole process of changing over go smoothly.
New Battery (happens)
New Primary Serpentine
New MAF Sensor
New Spark Plugs
New HT Wires with heat socks
New Upstream O2s
Legal 50% 3M tint installed four months ago - looks magic!
I think that's all of it.
Selling for way less than half of what it cost to build. 'Head Turner' is a massive understatement - still blown away by the variety of people that absolutely LOVE this truck.
Selling to go to work on my '73 K10 :-))
PLEASE!!! If you ask for "Last Price" over the phone, you are wasting your time AND mine. I will say 'yes', and when you get here you will get the head $%&! you deserve :-)
Open to negotiation? Of course. AFTER viewing.
